Air King 9166 (Window Fan) Date: November 9, 2009
"Pro. The unit works nicely and powerful as expected. I am satisfied with the fan in general. It solves the humidity smelling in my half-opening basement.

Con. The four screws securing the fan and the side gauges for flexible width of the unit into the window do hold the fan firmly. So the vibration noise come out when the fan runs in high speed. (Maybe I do not install it correctly?)"

"In this day and age it isn't often you run across a product as well made and ruggedd as this fan. I had to "Rube Goldberg" an installation on a window that I knew the fan wouldn't fit even before I ordered it. I wasn't too sure of my installation but it turned out rock solid. As soon as I hit that on switch there wasn't a rattle or vibration out of place. It performs excellently. A little noisy but what do you expect for the capabilities, I never have to turn it abouve its low setting, ever. Keep up the good work America, this is what we need to get back to..."

"I have a 1900+ sq ft home. With all the windows opened no more than 8 inches each, there is not a lot of air being pulled into the house. For the $182.50 price tag I was hoping for better results."

powerful fan Date: October 5, 2009
"The fan moves a lot of air; even at low speed. This comes at a price of noise, not from the motor, but from the fan blades moving so fast through the air. Having the fan on, even on low, makes it difficult to watch TV or talk on the phone in the same room. Put it on high and I don't even want to be in the room. If the fan is in an upstairs window, like mine is, and you are downstairs, the noise is obviously less and the air movement is significant. It would be nice if someone made a fan that had a low speed that was really quiet, but I haven't found one yet. This one is a decent whole house fan."
