Great hood, no reservations

"Our Kobe hood arrived within a week of ordering w/ no damage or scratches. It is exactly what the literature promises; ultra quiet (we have to strain to hear level 1) for example. And, the cooking odors are gone - unbelievable power at such quiet levels. We cook every night (fish, chinese, frying, etc). We did a direct vent out the rear. By the way, one review mentions you can't turn the light on without the fan...that is not true. That customer just hasn't figured out which button to push. But, we did have to drill through the punch out holes."

"This hood really is what it is advertised to be. Clean and good looking, very functional, and quiet. The loudest of the settings - and strongest - is only as loud as the under-the-counter microwave fan it is replacing and is many times stronger. The lowest and quietest setting - which is very quiet - is as strong as the fan it is replacing. One note: Installation is not well described in the manual. Two suggestions: drill holes in the fan to mount - DO NOT try to knock out the holes - call customer service, they will tell you the same thing. Also, strongly consider using fender washers to help add support. Technically this isn't required but I sure felt a whole lot better about it."

Great Vent!

"For the price, this fan is a fantastic value! In the low mode, you can't even hear it! On the higher speeds, it ensures that cooking odors stay within the cooking area. The filters trap grease and other pollutants quite well.
We are very pleased with this product and highly recommend it to others!"

Seconbd Generation model even better.

"After extensive research, We installed this jewel in our New Orleans home and used it for 6 years, to our great satisfaction. After hurrican Katrina we move to Arkansas, and decided to replace the microwave with one like it. At first we were disappointed when the second generation Kobe arrived with a lot of changes. Little did we realize the changes were substantial improvements over the earlier mlodel. The microwave now resides in our utility room and the Kobe range keeps out home free from the strong odors of the Cajun recipes we love. The only negative I can even remotely think of is: It runs so quietly I sometimes forget to turn it off, which tends to ruffle my little Cajun sweetheart who is also my wife."
